If I make a LAN server even with port forwarding orputting said machine in a DMZ zone it will not allow Internet clientsbecause its configured as a LAN server. If I make it a Internet Server it will not allow LAN clients unless thoseLAN clients hit the Modems Public IP so that the traffic looks like it'scoming from the net and even then the Modem just reflects the traffic backat the machine hosting.
It never hits the internet which still gives me areally low ping. Now I'm not sure if all ISP's configure their customermodems to do this.TysonTwisted Gaming Service-Original Message-From: Punky mailto:Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 4:24 AMTo:Subject: Re: cod Awaiting key code authorization error on LANThat's wrong. Our server is being hosted on a residental broadbandconnection with the dedicated set to Internet, and the guy who owns thebroadband connection CAN connect to it locally via the 192.168.
He says it won't let him via the external address. However, even with dedicated set to LAN the guy still has problems, sothere's something wrong there?-Punky- Original Message -From: 'Tyson Couch' To: Sent: Wednesday, January 16, 2008 5:20 AMSubject: RE: cod Awaiting key code authorization error on LAN I'm guessing this happens when you try to connect the servers local LAN IP, ie. 192.168.x.x IP? If so that's why. You can't have a Internet enabled server and LAN clients. As you have already noticed if you connect via Internet IP (your public IP) you can connect. It's LAN or Internet not both.

I can connect to it via the public internet, but am unable to connect to it via the LAN. When trying to connect to the server from a local machine I get the message 'Awaiting Connection.' In white letters at the top, and 'Awaiting key code authorization' in yellow letters near the bottom. I can connect to other internet servers fine, and as I said before, I can connect to my server only if I'm on the public internet. My server is behind a router with UDP ports 20800, 20810, and 28960 all forwarded to the correct machine. (it seems that port forwarding is not the issue, since I can connect via the outside, it's on the LAN that I cannot connect.) I've tried disabling all port forwarding on the router, and starting the server with '+set dedicated 1' to play ONLY on the LAN with no success.
I've tried fiddling with the netip settings in the config file, and the command line also to no avail. Anyone else see this issue occurring? Anyone know how to fix? -Rick Share life as it happens with the new Windows Live. Start sharing!
